Tagging Games
Tags are community-driven labels that help categorize games and make them easier to discover.
Adding Tags
- Navigate to the game detail page at
/games/{id} - Scroll to the Tags section
- Type a tag (max 12 characters) and submit
- Your tag is added to the game
Rules
- Tags are limited to 12 characters
- You can add multiple different tags to the same game
- Adding the same tag again removes it (toggle behavior)
- Tags are case-insensitive
Tag Scoring
Tags are ranked by the number of users who have applied them:
- Each user vote counts as 1 point
- The game author's tags receive a 2× multiplier, giving the maker more influence over categorization
- The top-scoring tags are displayed on the game detail page and used for store filtering
Using Tags to Browse
On the storefront (/store), click any tag to filter the listing to show only games with that tag. This is a great way to find games in a specific genre or style.
Examples
Good tags: platformer, puzzle, retro, co-op, roguelike, pixel-art, story-rich, horror
